Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of the website. Viewing content or submitting a search indicates acceptance. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated site is not affiliated with any government body and is not a consumer reporting agency or private investigation firm. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, housing, or another purpose governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Its role is limited to helping readers locate Crane County and Texas criminal-record resources.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government connection. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, conducts official checks, or files documents for a user.

Content identifies the Crane County Sheriff, local courts, DPS, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry as the custodians of distinct records. Some pages also link to independent research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the site is conditioned on these restrictions:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No information found here or through a linked tool may be used to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate. Misuse may violate the law. The Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62 governs registration and public notice. Registry information is meant for public-safety awareness, not retaliation, vigilantism, blacklisting, or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not produce a credit report, consumer report, or official background check. This site and its advertising partners do not offer tools designed for regulated screening. Data from this site or a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A legally permissible check for a regulated purpose must come from DPS or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

The site provides general information, not legal advice. A licensed Texas attorney should address how a charge, conviction, warrant, expunction, or nondisclosure rule applies to specific facts.

6. No Warranties

All material is provided "as is," without a guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges, dispositions, expunction orders, and nondisclosure orders can change what a record shows. Gaps and delays are unavoidable. No site content is an official statement of a court, sheriff, DPS, or other agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to the sheriff, courts, state agencies, legal-aid organizations, or independent services. We do not control a destination's content, availability, pricing, or data practices. Review its terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Crane County Criminal History or its content partners owns the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. Copying, distribution, modification, or derivative use requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for damages arising from site use or reliance on information obtained here or from a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or legal actions caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute related to use of the site must be brought in a court located in Texas.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A new version becomes effective when it is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or terminated at any time, with or without notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the rest remain effective. The affected term will be adjusted only as far as needed to make it enforceable.
